hello, world!

my name is abigail^[※], i use she / they pronouns. i'm a 22 year old computer scientist and scientific researcher. i have been programming as a hobby since i was 6 years old, and professionally since i was 14.

i'm a masters student in computer science and mathematics at eindhoven university of technology, where i focus on visual computing, simulation, and big data. i completed my bachelors at swansea university.

my thesis is in collaboration with the european space agency and the euclid consortium, for which i am improving the accuracy of redshift measurements, and creating renderings of large-scale cosmic super structure ("the cosmic web"), as mapped by the euclid space telescope.

i'm also a navigation engineer for TU/e's submarine engineering team, Abyss.

as you can probably tell based on my thesis topic and ongoing projects, i hugely enjoy astrophysics, and more generally anything science-related. it should therefore come as no surprise that my long-term goal is to be an astronaut :)

i currently live in The Netherlands 🇳🇱, and in the past have lived in 4 other countries, visited 28, and have been to 3 continents. i enjoy travelling, experiencing new cultures, and meeting people.

as for ¬(digital ∨ academic)-things, i am a certified ssi open water diver, and enjoy archery. i also enjoy consuming media; i made a watch list of anime's, movies, and tv shows that i enjoy / plan on watching, it also includes reviews for some of them.
